The Support Documents for the Zoo and Aquarium Association Education Policy consist of guidelines for the delivery of education and actual examples of education experiences that reflect the principles outlined in the policy. A regional education audit was completed and this provided a comprehensive understanding of education experiences that are being offered in zoos, parks and aquaria in the Australasian region. This provided a base for which to select the examples of best practice onsite, offsite and online education in the fields of student programs, community programs, interpretation and professional development that are listed below.
The Association's Education Policy and Support Documents will evolve to meet the changing needs of educational philosophy and practice in zoos, parks and aquaria.
