Taronga Zoo
Wildlife Workshops is an education program designed for overseas students. It focuses on developing English language skills and connecting students to Australian animals. It has a number of components including - a special photo session, a 45 minute animal based lesson, a zoo language mystery trail incorporating reading, listening and observation skills, a barbeque lunch and presentation.
Students usually 12-18 years of age mostly from Japan. Students from English language schools also attend. A growing number of corporate groups are also using the program with a modified content.

For developing a resource, printing and framing the certificate and marketing the costs were approximately AU$2,000.00
Through an external consultant which includes preview tours for tour operators and Japanese representatives of in bound companies.
A ratio of one Zoo Educator for every 20 students. These staff members are sourced casually and from permanent staff.
Partners include Australian Attractions (external marketing consultant) Kintetsui (inbound Japanese travel company) and JTB (inbound Japanese travel company).
Education kit (including map, trail, and discount voucher), photo frame and certificate.
Surveys are conducted through tour companies.
