Travel information
It’s very easy to get to the Gold Coast from within Australia or around the world. Served by not one but two international and domestic airports, the Gold Coast is also less than one hour’s drive from Brisbane.

Brisbane’s international and domestic airports lie within one hour’s drive via the Pacific Motorway.

By Road

  • From Brisbane via the eight-lane Pacific Motorway: www.mainroads.qld.gov.au

  • From Sydney and coastal New South Wales via the scenic Pacific Highway.
  • From Melbourne and regional New South Wales via the inland New England Highway.

Transportation within the Gold Coast


Wheel power
The Gold Coast enjoys many quality bus services including a high frequency bus service along the Gold Coast Highway to Theme Parks, Shopping Centres and Rail Links. TransLink can provide more information at TransLink or view the Route Map.

Surfers Paradise Transit Centre provides convenient access to a range of coach services in Surfers Paradise (hours 6am to 10pm).


Water ways

Adjust your pace to nature with an escorted or solo kayak, surf, or kite surf. Put a charge in your motor with jet ski or speedboat rides, boat or houseboat hire, fishing charters, sail cruises or luxury escorted cruises.
