TAG Convenor: William Meikle, Taronga Zoo Perissodactyls are the "odd-toed ungulates" which include the horses, zebras, tapirs and rhinos. Proboscids are the African and Asian elephants.

The biggest issues for this TAG are:
- Management of elephants, especially breeding initiatives and consistent husbandry practices.
- Breeding of white rhinos beyond first generation in order to establish viable, long-term population.
- Health issues, especially with eyes in Malayan tapirs.
