Junior Zoo School


ARAZPA Organisation: Adelaide Zoo


Experience Synopsis: This program is for classes that like to visit the Zoo for more than one day. The Junior Zoo School program runs on Mondays and Tuesdays. Teachers can negotiate four one-hour lessons with an education officer over the two days. A behind the scenes tour of the Food Stored is one of the options and is only offered with this program. With this program the class gets their own classroom for the day. 

Audience: Junior Primary classes up to Yr 4. 

Cost per participant: Entry to the zoo for both days + AU$40 per class per day. 

Set up costs: Nil. 

How the experience is promoted: Advertised through pack sent to schools through the Department of Education. 

Staffing: One full-time staff member to coordinate program and facilitate lessons. 

Resources: Classroom/sheltered area.
