Specialist Advisory Groups

Specialist Advisory Groups operate as communication networks for zoo and aquarium staff working in specialised areas.

Membership of these groups is open to full individual ARAZPA members and to non-members working in ARAZPA institutions.  There are currently nine groups:

Click on the links above to discover more information about each of the groups.

In addition, a Population Management group, will soon be formally established.  Typically each group meets annually or biannually, and members are in regular contact through online listserves.

Membership of these groups is open to full individual ARAZPA members and to non-members working in ARAZPA institutions.

As a member of a Specialist Group you will:

  • Join a network of people working in the zoo and aquarium industry that share similar interests to yourself.
  • Meet your counterparts at zoos and aquaria throughout the Australasian region and work together to tackle issues that concern the group.
  • Be able to communicate through the online listserve to other members of the group to share and exchange ideas.
  • Be invited to attend the biannual or annual meetings of the group.
  • Be able to contribute to the actions of the group, for instance newsletters, manuals etc.
